PRESTIGIOUS LOW COST OFFICE LETTING

Two buildings in the first phase of the prestigious and environmentally friendly Borough Hill office development have been let within weeks of completion.

The courtyard office scheme at Walton on Trent – just off the A38 between Lichfield and Burton – has been developed adopting  the highest levels of sustainable and “green”  specification including ground source heat pumps (for heating and cooling),  solar renewable panels and sensored lighting. This translates into high quality office space with exceptionally low running costs and EPC Ratings of “A (15-20)”.

The Steading and Well Barn – totalling 1,750 sq ft – have been let to By The Bridge, the Kent -based private fostering agency with offices throughout the country.

The buildings have only recently been completed to a high specification providing a pleasant but accessible working environment within surrounding countryside and plenty of on-site parking (as well as being on the local bus route).  The specification includes underfloor heating (357% efficiency rating), air conditioning, renewable energy source, photo-electric lighting controls, heat recovery and ventilation.

Letting agent, Andrew Buckman of Kingston CPC, commented:  “High quality specification can be found in a number of modern buildings, but the combination of prestigious courtyard office space and exceptionally low running costs – particularly with current volatile energy prices – is proving to be a winning combination.  For example lighting costs – even if lights were left on all day, every working day – are projected to be as low as 34 pence per day.  Ground source heat pumps and solar renewable energy serving the whole development will mean that power, heating and cooling will be considerably cheaper than in developments using conventional power sources.  The development will suit those occupiers with an environmentally conscious agenda, whilst providing high quality office space. ”

Within the first phase there are three buildings remaining, offering a range of open plan, single and two storey accommodation from 716 sq ft to 1,914 sq ft.
