GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES REVIEW ON RETAIL RATES
The government announced on Monday (16 March) that it will be undertaking a review of national business rates. This will be the biggest review in a generation.
Statistics have revealed that more retail stores in 2014 closed than opened.
New measures for small businesses are set to come into effect in April and will help ease the burden on high street retailers.
The government seem to have recognised that with the massive advance of technology since the Business Rates System was created, the worlds of commerce and industry and specifically the Traditional Retail High Street has changed.
